After a child is baptized into the Christian faith, Christian parents, especially Christian fathers, have the responsibility to instruct that child in the Christian faith.

To aid Christian fathers in this task, Martin Luther’s Small Catechism presents the Christian faith under six chief parts (The Ten Commandments, The Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, Holy Baptism, The Keys, Holy Communion).

Our congregation assists Christian parents in their task of teaching the faith by offering three years of confirmation class. In the first year (6^th grade), we study major events in Bible history. In the last two years (7^th and 8^th grade), we study Martin Luther’s Small Catechism.

After completion of confirmation class, students have the opportunity to confess the faith into which they were baptized. Those who make this confession are confirmed in the faith and are welcomed to the sacrament of Holy Communion as communicants, that is, as those prepared to examine themselves and receive the sacrament properly.

2024 Confirmation Class

Congratulations to our 10 confirmands. After two years of study, they became communicant members at Lord of Love on April 14, 2024. May God continue to bless them and strengthen their faith in the years to come.
